Open Farm Week

Guided Farm Tour at North Country Creamery

08/08/2021

Join Ashlee and Steven for a guided tour of their organic dairy farm and creamery where they make yogurt, cheese, and other dairy products. Pets are ok on leash in our outdoor spaces.

North Country Creamery is a “100% grassfed, Non-GMO, and Animal Welfare Approved dairy in Keeseville, NY. We produce and sell an array of farmstead cheeses, creamline yogurts, and RAW milk! All of our products are made exclusively with the fresh milk from our Milking Shorthorn and Jersey cows, and other ingredients are limited to cultures, local herbs, maple syrup, and organic extracts–no added colors or stabilizers. Our cows receive the utmost care through the use of tinctures, essential oils, and homeopathic remedies, if ever they are in need.”

Open House, Garden Tour and Plant Sale

08/08/2021

Join us for an open house with garden tours. A selection of perennial plants will be available for purchase. Pets on leash only, please.

Sunwarm Gardens is located in Vermontville, NY, about 12 miles outside of Saranac Lake. Our one acre farm includes a greenhouse, an unheated hoophouse with drip irrigation, and permanent beds for intensive production. For many years we sold mixed veggies at farmers markets and through CSA, before shifting to flower farming in 2018. The addition of a walk-in cooler in 2019 allows post-harvest conditioning, greatly improving the longevity of our cut flowers.

Homestead Chicken Harvest Workshop

08/08/2021

Join us for chicken harvest day on the farm. Our “broiler” chickens are an integral part of our grass-based pasture rotation. They live in mobile chicken coops, allowing them to forage along the pastures behind our dairy cows, adding impotant functions for soil and ecosystem health. In this workshop, you will learn how to harvest your own chickens at our farm. Get hands-on experience in all aspects of processing. Everyone gets a fresh chicken to take home at the end of the workshop as well. Class size is limited and may fill up fast. Please register at triplegreenjadefarm.com/farm-events/.

Triple Green Jade is a small organic, diversified farm on 80 acres bordering the Boquet River where we bake sourdough breads and gourmet crackers with freshly milled local flour. We also have pastured poultry, free range eggs, and an emerging micro-dairy.

Milling Local Wheat Workshop

08/08/2021

Join us for a wheat milling workshop that highlights the importance and process of using locally milled grains in traditional bread-making. We’ll start with a short tour of the “Breadery”, where our delicious and nutritious breads and crackers that are sold across the region to retail locations, markets and resturants are baked. You will learn about the operation of our stone mill as well. Then we’ll mill up 2 different types of Essex County grown wheat followed by eating the results of our labor with several local wheat inspired tastes. Everyone gets to take home 5 lbs of each freshly milled flour to try at home as well. Please register at triplegreenjadefarm.com/farm-events/.

Balloon Tether & Family Fun at Mossbrook Roots Flower Farm

08/08/2021

PLEASE NOTE, DATE AND TIME CHANGE AS OF 9/17 at 1PM

Due to the weather forecast, the scheduled hot air balloon tether at Mossbrook Roots Flower Farm and Florist has been pushed to SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 19 at 6:30 AM.
Enjoy the sunrise at the farm! Hot coffee and baked goods will be available (yes!) Make your own bouquet from flowers grown from seed to stem and enjoy the rainbow balloon amongst the fields of flowers.
Why so early? Hot air balloons can only safely inflate at dawn and dusk when the wind is most favorable.
North Country Creamery just up the road is also inviting folks to come to see the cows during morning milking, around 6-7 AM.
You-pick grapes and flowers just around the corner at Adirondack View Vineyard and Lavender starting at 8 AM.
If you’ve made a donation for a tether ride, you’ve been emailed with more information on the next steps. Tether rides for folks not already on the waitlist will be very limited but may be offered on a first come first serve basis with a $25 donation to Adirondack Harvest. We will try our best to keep the balloon going until 8:00 AM.
Make a morning of it, and see you there!
Updated as of 9/18/21 at 8:00AM
The hot air balloon tether ride waitlist is full. Please join us the day of the event to see the balloon for free, mo RSVP required.
Secure a place in line for a tether ride with a $25 or above donation per person to Adirondack Harvest and include “balloon ride” in a note during checkout. Please understand that balloon rides are highly weather dependent, and your contribution will be considered a donation to support the work of Adirondack Harvest in the event that we have to cancel or reduce the availability of balloon rides. Rides will be limited, and first-reserved with a donation will be first-served.

No RSVP or fee is required to join other activities and see the balloon! Our location is handicap accessible but not to all areas. We have grass and gravel pathways. No pets, please.

Mossbrook Roots Flower Farm and Florist offers “locally grown and cut flowers in Keeseville, NY. We service the surrounding areas including Clinton and Essex Counties. Seasonal bouquets, single stems, and unique items are available for sale at our farm market daily.”
