You-Pick Pumpkins & Goat Milk Gelato Tasting

“The Patch” at Hidden Pastures Dairy will be open for you-pick pumpkins. The Hidden Pastures Dairy Farm Store will also be open each day through event along with a few extra local vendors selling products, food and local baked goods. We will be giving out free servings of our goat milk gelato throughout the day. Please no pets. Handicap accessible through most of the area. The Patch is a short walk from the farm store and each family will be equipped with a wagon or cart to take along for the walk.

Hidden Pastures Dairy is “a husband and wife farming team dedicated to caring for the land, our animals, and our kids (human and goat alike). We produce our goat milk gelato with honesty and love. We have crafted our gelato to be a natural, sweet, delicious treat for you to enjoy. Our farm is certified through the NYS Sheep/Goat Health Assurance Program (NYSSGHAP) and we are proud members of the New York State Grown and Certified Program.”

Harvest Party at Ledge Hill

Join us for an art show, distillery tastings, local food, and music to celebrate the Harvest Season!

Featuring…

  • New artwork on display from local farmer, artist and friend of the brewery, Jasmine Horn
  • Taste-testings from Murry’s Fools Distillery of their Snowshoe Vodka, La Pomme du Lac Apple Brandy, WolfJaw Whiskey, and Osprey Aquavit
  • Ice cream scoops from Farmers’ Cone Creamery- small-batch ice cream with local milk, fruit, and flavorings
  • DaCy Meadow Farm will be there serving local food
  • Music bingo from 6-8pm

Farmers’ Cone Creamery makes “Handcrafted ice cream made in small batches with fresh, local ingredients. Our ice cream is a celebration of flavor and the farmers who make it possible. Farmers Cone Creamery flavors are familiar, approachable, and straightforward, while being elevated by quality ingredients and care in how they come together.” 

Murry’s Fools Distilling Co is a “fully licensed farm distillery producing small batch craft spirits to be enjoyed by those who value nature’s quiet moments and freedom of self. The company was founded in 2015 by Sarah and Randall Beach…Our company philosophy is based upon this heritage of freedom, individualism and nature in making its craft spirits. We draw upon the bounty of our regional resources, and produce spirits designed to inspire freedom of self, creativity and appreciation of the natural world. The distillery is located in the small town of Altona in upstate New York, just a few feet from the Adirondack Park’s Blue Line.”

Ledge Hill Brewing Company is a brewery and tasting room that makes hand crafted ales and lagers mindfully brewed for folks who celebrate our community’s rich heritage and share an optimistic vision of the future.

ADK Story Time

Storytime with School Programs Manager Christine Campeau. Christine will read ADK food-related tall tales and other anecdotes from the region. Storytime will be at 12:30 and at 2:00. All events are included with museum admission.

Interactive, hands-on activities abound, making the stories of the Adirondacks and its people highly engaging for the whole family.

Homegrown Zucchini Contest

Enter your their homegrown zucchinis and try to win one of three prizes—Biggest Zucchini, Weirdest Looking, and Best Carved. Visitors will also get a chance to guess the weight of the biggest zucchini and whoever wins will get a special prize.

All events are included with museum admission.

All workshops are led by Jane Desotelle and include tea and jelly tasting, one free plant, and a list of plants in the botanical sanctuary with common and scientific names.
