About Jane, Underwood Herbs & The Plattsburgh Botanical Sanctuary

“Since 1978, I’ve been selling herb teas from the Adirondack region and I still love it! The interest in herb teas and wild foods has never been greater in my lifetime. I hope to keep this interest alive by helping people learn about the value of the plants around them. Plattsburgh Botanical Sanctuary is about 1/2 acre lot inside a city block behind my house with 400 varieties of medicinal and wild food plants.”

Open House & Learn About On-Site Biodiesel Manufacturing

Echo Farm will host an open house for showcasing its custom manucfacturing process for making biodiesel. We normally prepare farm to table food for the general public but we also work with local farms to make homegrown sustainable fuel. We will take a behind-the-scenes look at how Echo Farm takes waste fat from the butchering process to convert it into tractor fuel used across the Adirondack region. No pets. Unvaccinated attendees are required to wear masks while indoors. Please park by the farmstore or in the field as indicated by signage. Carpooling and/or usage of non-motorized transportation encouraged. Handicapped attendees may park on the gravel driveway in front of the shop.

Echo Farm raises meat, vegetables, flowers, maple, dairy and specialty farm products like soap. As a true diversified farm, we strive to grow fertile soils and regenerative landscapes by mixing good animal management practices with no-till crop farming and other carbon-sequestering methods. The farm’s sister business, Farmstead Catering, provides full service gourmet catering with all of the ingredients custom-grown and raised at Echo Farm.
