Power of Produce Club

08/06/2019

Adirondack Harvest is working to bring more community members to the local food scene. This summer we launched the Power of Produce Club! We’re in the middle of a 7-week series, where kids taste veggies and fruits each week, participate in educational activities, receive $5 to choose a veggie or fruit of their choice, then keep track of it all in a fun “passport” each week! Look for Alexis, Americorps VISTA volunteer working with CCE Essex to bring this amazing program to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake Farmers’ Markets each week. We chose these two markets because they launched a SNAP and matching Fresh Connect dollars program last year. Alexis also brings information about how to use those dollars as well as seasonal cooking tips and more each week to the market. Thank you to CCE Essex, the Well Fed Collaborative, Big Slide Brewery and the Left Bank Cafe for contributing to this event! Alexis also brought the program to Elizabethtown Farmers’ Market this Monday for the WIC Breastfeeding Awareness Day event and will be there August 16th for kids’ day!
