Champlain Grasslands Farm

At Champlain Grasslands Farm we breed and raise beautiful Jersey cows. All registered and classified with the American Jersey Cattle Association and their milk under a monthly Quality control by Dairy One. Being a small herd with 3 or 4 cows in milk instead of shipping the milk we started raising Veal calves. We call it Rose Veal since we raise them to about 6 months of age on an all milk and free choice hay diet. This adds color and marbling to the meat. We source our calves from local farmers also the hay. The calves get raised like any other of my calves in pens or in the winter- in tie stalls. Never in dark or tight places where they cant move, which sadly I get asked by a lot of people. We are very proud of our produce and the beautiful cows who work very hard making milk everyday to raise these calves with the best nutrients possible.
