Asgaard Farm, near AuSable Forks, is the former home of artist, writer, adventurer and political activist Rockwell Kent. It was acquired by David Brunner and Rhonda Butler in 1988. After working several years to restore the land and buildings, they put the farm back into production, initially growing certified organic grains and hay. Plans are currently underway to establish an organic beef herd, develop an organic goat dairy and create artisanal cheeses. Asgaard is also part of the American Tree Farm System, and its woodlands are managed using sustainable forestry practices. To find Asgaard: At the southern end of Main Street in AuSable Forks, go over the bridge that crosses the East Branch of the Ausable River. Turn right immediately after the bridge onto Sheldrake Road. The farm is located about 1 1/2 miles further on the right hand side of the road. The grains and hay are certified organic. Meats and cheeses will be classified as all-natural until target herd numbers are achieved and the animals can be transitioned to organic.
Dan and Sara Burke strive to provide great tasting, wholesome food to their local community. They have been building their 84 acre farm for the past eight years - creating pastures around the Cuban-Missile-Crisis-era missile silo in the center of the property. The farm currently consists of Scottish Highland and Devon cattle, mixed heritage breed pigs, draft horses, laying hens, two labs and two great kids (human, not goat). Their beef, pork and eggs are available year round at the farm or delivered locally. CSA memberships are also available, please call or email for details. New members currently accepted.

Echo Farm raises meat, vegetables, flowers, maple, dairy and specialty farm products like soap. As a true diversified farm, we strive to grow fertile soils and regenerative landscapes by mixing good animal management practices with no-till crop farming and other carbon-sequestering methods.
The farm's sister business, Farmstead Catering, provides full service gourmet catering with all of the ingredients custom-grown and raised at Echo Farm. The catering company uses a certified kitchen on site and has worked with venues and clients from all around the Adirondack Park to create wedding receptions that offer the very best in authentic farm to table fare.
The variety of produce and animals raised here will vary from year to year based on the wedding menus that our clients select. However, most practices will remain consistent on the farm based on our philosophy and values. For instance, we raise heritage breeds of livestock and poultry. These animals have consistent access to pasture three seasons of the year. We also vow to never use any chemical fertilizers, synthetic pesticides or antibiotics in producing your food. The limited grain fed to the animals is organic.
We welcome visitors, especially clients who have hired us to grow their food, to visit us during the growing season and literally see, feel and taste the ingredients to be used at their reception. This interaction is tremendously rewarding for both the wedding couple and us, the farmers. Hours of cultivating vegetables and milking goats at 6am comes much easier when we connect with the people who we are growing food for whether its for sale at our weddings or in our farm store! :))

Harmony Hills Farmstead began when we started eating foods produced using humane, environmentally safe practices. We want to be sure the products we consume are raised and grown in such a manner. For that reason we decided to raise our own livestock. In 2004 we purchased property in northern upstate New York, and began putting our vision into practice.
Today, we are successfully raising our own beef, pork, and poultry. We proudly offer these products to family and friends, and have decided to make these same foods available to customers who share our values.

The model we follow is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). Our CSA encourages a meaningful connection between YOU the shareholders, US the farmers and THE FOOD that is naturally grown in the 3 acres of gardens. Our share options are unique and delicious! Individuals can sign up for one or all of the three complementary options: Summer you pick share, Fall (we pick for you) share and Bulk Share. We are a diversified livestock operation in the Champlain Valley, rotationally grazing Devon Cattle, Katahdin Sheep, heritage Pigs, Turkeys, and Chickens. Our beef and sheep are 100% grass-fed, and our pigs, chickens & turkeys forage on pasture and receive rations of organically grown (non-certified) grains.
We do our own butchery here on the farm - each week preparing specialty sausages, smoked meats, and a variety of fresh cuts for weekly markets, pick-ups, or delivery. We now offer our own Salamis as well - something to throw in the pack as you head into the mountains.
